First Flight of the Phoenix by madeinjapan1988 First Flight of the Phoenix by madeinjapan1988
Simple image depicting the launch of a Vanguard-Class battlecruiser from the planet she was built on. Here, heavy lift counter-gravity repulsers push the hull into orbit while a pair of Dagger-Class corvettes stand guard.

There are a good number of compelling arguments against building spaceships anywhere except space. But if you're gonna build spaceships on a planet anyways, this is the way to get 'em into orbit! Very cool.

Awesome ship man! I always asked myself how these ships get into orbit or if they are already built there...

i highly doubt that anyone capable of building such ships would build them not in an orbital yard.
but besides that engineering unlogic veeery awsome ship :)

Don't know if you have anything against halo but a lot of these ship remind me of the UNSC fleet.

As Halo ships reminded others of ships from Alien and such. This scene I will admit was inspired by Halo: Reach, but my ships are hardly UNSC ships. No more than the Sulaco is a UNSC ship.

I thought that too- the Pillar of Autumn takes off in the same way.

This is really cool- love the crisp lines and strong shapes, man.

Love the clip - on gravity thruster idea.

I am always fascinated by the question of how you build SciFi stuff. I can imagine myself as one of the workers on something like this just thinking, "please nothing go wrong with the launch..."
