Ranger Assault Carrier WIP 1 by madeinjapan1988 Ranger Assault Carrier WIP 1 by madeinjapan1988
A WIP of the Ranger-Class Carrier CVA-6, ANS Enterprise. I'm sure I'll make more tweaks and edits but this is the direction I went with "carriers"

Wow... Just wow. I think my previous favorite of your designs may get dethroned if this is just a WIP.

I wouldn't want to be the guy in charge of washing windows on this ship. XD

Do the corvettes get launched out the bays in her midsection like vipers from a Battlestar?

The carrier changed naval warfare forever. Love the corvettes, they add a great sense of scale (which is huge). What kind of defensive weapons does she have? Is this meant to be a Ship of the Lance?

There isn't a "Top FTL speed" in my verse. Ships in FTL can all travel the same speed. sub light is where it differs.

That is one impressive looking carrier. Just how large is it? A thought occurred to me, assuming this is a first generation carrier, it is entirely likely future carrier classes will be even larger.

Actually, that's isn't the case. This is the first production carrier, much like lexington or the yorktown class, and while carriers did get larger, they didn't by much after that.
